The Survey of inbound Tourism for first half of the year also reflects an increase of family tourism.
Tourists who visited Tenerife in the first half of the year are younger then those who came in 2007, it appears from the data analysed by Tourism Tenerife and Provided by the Survey of Inbound Tourism.
The average age of tourists was 46 years, although, there was an outstanding increase in the segment of less then 26 years old. The increase in the youth market is especially seen in the Spanish, German, Danish, Italian and Russian nationalities.
Russian tourism on the island, is increasing year after year and already represents 1.5%.
The largest youth area seen is in an increase of family tourism, which represents 18 % of total visitors. 13.3% are families with children under 15 years, an increase of 4.3% compared to the first half of the previous years.
Also, levels of household incomes of visitors is lower, 42,886 euros on average. Yet these figures do not relate to lower levels of spending since it is proven that tourists of this age segment spend on average 14 % higher than the average visitors.
During the first half of the year the total expenditure of tourists during their trip to Tenerife was on average 104,08 euros per person per day, an increase of 1.17% above the previous year. |
